Organized yearly by Newburgh Art Supply store, Newburgh Open Studios (an hour North of NYC) invites neighbors and visitors from out-of-town to see usually private workspaces and galleries of local artists and get a behind-the-scenes glimpse into their working process. Many shops and spaces around town hold special exhibitions and larger artist warehouses like Atlas and Regal Bag Studios are open all day.
