Exploring Philadelphia

Visual Culture

Philadelphia is an excellent place for a flâneur for its numerous narrow streets and alleys, little traffic, and comfortable sidewalks. A quick walk around the city can easily turn into a long and deep study of local design details: door knobs, windows, numbers, and signs.

Design Shops

Philadelphia boasts an eclectic and dispersed selection of shops — from home decor, to antiques, to gifts and quirky objects. Surprisingly, I could not find one magazine store.
