New York City has just kickstarted its most exciting architecture and design month — Archtober — with a preview of Architecture & Design Film Festival. Traditionally, on a Wednesday evening numerous furniture showrooms in Manhattan’s SoHo cozied up their spaces with blankets and cushions and poured rivers of Prosecco and (this year) popcorn machines while showcasing some of the short films that will screen at the festival later this month.

Here’re 5 of my favorite films from the night
