Out of all design shows happening in New York in May, Wanted Design is probably the least elitarian: you’ll hardly be able to define the crowd there, and it’s what makes the show unique. There’re student projects from all over the world, along with small studios and large studios. There’s a fine roster of fashion, home goods, art, architecture, and furniture — all coming together into a peculiar and highly entertaining mix. Wanted Design is a perfect show for non-designers to understand the idea behind design thinking as a process

Adapt & Reuse: New approaches for recycling Urban Fabric
Participants: David van der Leer, Van Alen Institute – present Van Alen’s public installation competitions at Flat Iron and Times Square as reuse of public space through design; Daniel Pittman, Design Director, A/D/O – present the on-going projects A/D/O has with designers on temporary installations they do in their building.
